Our story book of choice today at Mile Oak was 'The Little Lost Unicorn'. Staff at Mile Oak made the story really come to life and inspired our children's imagination. Our poor little unicorn went on an adventure through the woods, but got lost along the way! He was very scared and started to cry glitter tears! The children at Mile Oak decided they wanted to try and find the unicorn and help him get home. You can imagine their excitement when they went out into the garden and found real magic - the lost unicorn had found its way into our Scallywags garden! The children spotted the trail of unicorn tears by following the magic glitter!Unfortunately, the little unicorn couldn't be found! Children's learning was extended when they left nursery and went in search for unicorn tears on their way home and looked in their own garden with their families! I wonder where he'll turn up??"Such a lovely idea, the girls were talking about this all the way home!" - Aimee, Parent."Frankie went straight into the garden to find some unicorn tears, but i didn't have time to sprinkle any glitter first!" - Emily, Parent."My son loved this, he hasn't stopped talking about it all evening" - Emma, Parent.Enjoying books and reading stories from a very early age is crucial in the development of children. It helps with their ability to understand words, use their imagination and develop their speech, as well as being something they really enjoy! What stories can you bring to life at home?
