The effects of reading in children are endless and we make it our priority everyday to read to children in a creative and imaginative way.If you don't attend Little Scallywags, did you know that reading to children from a young age can have massive benefits to their development? This includes cognitive and emotional benefits such as helping them develop language skills, build empathy and learn how to manage feelings and behaviour.Whilst the evidence base to support the benefits of reading is extensive and growing, our mission is to help our children find the love in reading and choose to read over other things.Our curriculum is heavily focussed on reading and staff plan activities every day to support this. World book day is just another opportunity for the staff at Little Scallywags to showcase this and bring more magic into your child's day!
